I spent a couple of hours writing excerpts from fake historical documents originating in a parallel universe in which spider-human hybrids have taken over the military, and then I went Etsy-crazy.

Seriously? For Xmas? You are all getting crap from Etsy.

Countrified songbird Alex Battles has written two songs based on poems from Villanelles are Retarded, a book of extremely stupid poems written by myself and the fabulous Shafer Hall.

Check out the songs here.

And check out the book that spawned such demon seed here.

I feel weighted and obnoxious -- as though I've been putting my foot in my mouth, repeatedly, for days, and now I'm all loaded down with feet.

I got eight and a half hours' sleep last night, which is a first in weeks. It's drizzly and it's still night when I wake up at 6:30, which bothers me immensely. (Dawn isn't until 7:20).

I get a sojourn in NYC next week, though. I will come into town Tuesday evening for a reading, and stay through Thursday afternoon. Thursday I will be doing work stuff, but on Wednesday I'll just be hanging out.

I'm getting married on the seventh of July.

The reading at the Project was awesome. And I got to dance. Whee! Poets need more dance parties.

Heck. Everybody does.

Coming back to NYC on the 24th to read at Battle Hill with Dug Rothschild. I will be reading from "Join My Spider Army," an occasional piece for Halloween, the War on Terror, and our new genetic future.

All is well. I am feeding my goldfish broccoli.
