Following in the footsteps of National Novel Writing Month, in which persons of diverse backgrounds and resources are invited to devote the month of November to writing a novel, I hereby announce National Poetry Writing Month, to take place in April, which happens, quite nicely, to be National Poetry Month. The goal: to write and post a poem a day for the entire duration of April. I cannot guarantee that the poems will be any good, but because this blog has a comments feature, you can carp about their quality to your heart's content.
