Even without a hard drive, the show must go on!

And the show, dear friends, is NAPOWRIMO.

This year, as I have done since 2002, I will celebrate National Poetry Writing Month by writing one poem every day for the month of April, and post them to my NaPoWriMo blog. The first year, I NaPoed alone, but in each following year, people have joined me in celebrating the awesomeness of writing first and asking questions later.

So, will you, won't you, will you, won't you join the dance?

Well, I tried to install my new CD-Rom drive last night, and ended up with no video. Screen works (checked it on another computer) and the power to the computer comes up fine, so it would appear that the video card is unhappy -- either dusty, or not properly in its slot. I couldn't seem to get it out of the slot though, to reseat it, so for right now I am stuck without access to my hard drive. Sadness!

However, a mobile geek unit is supposed to come out today and inspect the damage. If they can get my computer to work correctly again, I will do a little dance.

Oh, there's Gilgamesh, and the Norse Sagas, and even utterly endless Genjimotori. But can any of them hold a candle to the epic battle between Fartman and Pull-My-Finger-Fred?

And you thought the law couldn't be fun.

UPDATE: I've fixed the link!

Yesterday was a good mail day. New stuff from Ahsahta, from Ryan Murphy's fugitive press (currently going by the name "Oni is the New Apple Press"), and my contributor's copy of Cannibal. A big boost after all my late complaining about writer's block and unpoeticality to have my work featured there. I feel like a real poet now, Ma! (ahem).

A silly weekend. Pan's Labyrinth, shoe shopping, too many mojitos, "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic."

Started out feeling depressed, ended up feeling paranoid, but there were many good things in between.

My computer's CD drive is kaput. Reads DVDs fine, but the CD-reading laser has gone off to another realm. I spent hours last night dinking around with the firmware and BIOS before I realized I would just have to buy a new drive. Which is on its way. And which I must upon arrival attempt to install -- my first foray into hardware installation. This will represent a new level of geeky awesomeness for me.

My glasses broke and I repaired them with Krazy Glue. This is the universe's way of telling me to get my eyes checked.

Bringing the book design to the next level -- did some designs for the next round of tinysides which had me beside myself with belief in my own awesomeness. More total awesomeness can only follow.

The giant art project for this week is binding Big Game's latest and greatest chapbook: David Trinidad's Tiny Moon Notebook. Here's a sneakpeak:

I still can't write, but I think that is the universe's way of telling me to finish Applies to Oranges. I am self-sabotaging this great work through endless procrastination. April will be the month of its completion -- yea, I swear it upon, um, stuff!
