An attempt at a roundup of yesterday's NaPoWriMo efforts. It seems, however, that NaPoWriMo is rapidly expanding beyond my wee circle of poets into a stampeding juggernaut of poem-making. Hooray! At any rate, here's what's sure to be an incomplete list of places to find NaPoWriMoPoems:

Erica
Harry
Maureen
Max
Mia
Michael Schiavo (not Michael Schiavo)
Miles
Sam
Shafer
Stephany
VMH

ALSO: All the good folks at Poetry Free For All, as well as the blogless multitudes, including: Ada, Jamison, Jen, John, Rachel, the other Rachel . . .

If you also want to be on the surely incomplete list, or if you have a blog or other place you'd like me to link to, drop me a comment!

NaPoWriMo #1 is up.

Links to all the other NaPoWriMo efforts coming soon. Right now I am full of Nyquil and it calls me gently to sleep.

See you tomorrow.

All right, NaPoWriMoers! Tomorrow is the first day of a month of poetic output. Thus far, the takers are:

John
Shafer
Miles
Shanna
Erica
Jamison
Stephanie
Sam
VMH
and Myself.

I will be posting my first poem very late tomorrow. I am leaving for DC and a day of interviews at 7 a.m., and will not come home to roost until around 9 p.m. My first poem will thus likely be written on a train, on paper, with a pencil or something. Madness!

Good luck, y'all!

Two days to NaPoWriMo, and the participation keeps growing. The blogless Stephanie is interested, and just to let you know, O Blog-Free Ones, if you want to participate AND get your poems posted, Mr Shafer Hall has volunteered to house your works in virtual space.

Sad poetry news: Robert Creeley has died. My first year of law school I had this "Poem of the Week" thing where I would put a poem on the door, and often I would forget to change it and people would come along and write things like "Poem of the Month, what?" on the poem, or "New Poem, please!" but my posting of Creeley's "I Know a Man," though it stayed up longer than anything else, garnered no such complaints.

"Taco" is now a verb. There is much rejoicing.

I have discovered (and contracted) a new disease! I call it Sudden Onset Invisibility (SOI). This morning, random people kept walking into me, poking me with their umbrellas -- apparently diverting themselves out of unencumbered paths merely for the pleasure of pushing, shoving, and otherwise bruising my person. I can only conclude that these people were somehow unaware of my presence. I am not sure what has caused me to suffer from SOI, but the resulting injuries are giving me an attitude problem. The next person to walk into me is going to get a knuckle sandwich, accompanied by a harsh "Can you see me now?"

NaPoWriMo starts Friday! We're up to five participants: myself, Erica, Miles, Sam and Shanna. The weight of our combined poetic output may be enough to set the Earth spinning off its accustomed course. Prepare for cataclysmic occurrences, my people! The United Poet Army is on its way!
