It's a very Novelty Act kind of day!

First of all, the lovely Miss Emily Gordon purchased a copy in a real live bookstore (McNally-Robinson) and then read a poem from it at KPF (performing "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" along side her poem).

Now it seems the novelties are inspiring new poems!

KPF was great fun, as always. I sang "Sweet Dreams Are Made of These" by the Eurythmics, and realized that the reason I remember the lyrics to the song is that the song consists entirely of a chorus, punctuated with "Oooh" and "Ahhhh." I got to march in place and do a little jig during the instrumental break.

Hung out in the back with Charlie Orr, Marion Wrenn, and Jason Schneiderman and danced to the last part of the Boog City LiveAid Cover Tribute, and then sang gustily and lustily along with the karaoke, especially Dan Nester's version of "I'm All Out of Love," and a random-but-game person's rendition of "Killing Me Softly."

Now I'm a tuckered little poet.

Received my contributor's copy of GoodFoot 6 in the mail yesterday. Hooray! That was my very first acceptance, made a bit over a year ago.

Have you got a Twin Peaks poem? I have. And now they shall all have a home!

Didn't really work on the poems for the love flarf chapbook this weekend, but I did print up delightful covers. Spent Saturday readying my room for some Craigslist glamour shots: threw out so many pairs of shoes. So very many.

Put the Craigslist ad up today around noon and already am drowning in responses. Have had to send away very many confused French people.

"I rent room for one week, yes?"

No.

"We make croissants, we make the love, yes?"

No.

"We maybe just cuddle, yes?"

NO!
